Why Télos

When you think of a name for something new, it is important to remember that it will accompany it for the rest of its days and will embody its meaning, message and responsibility. The choice of the name Télos was deliberate because we wanted to give a precise meaning to a project which is characterised by its painstaking method and production. We took the tenacity we needed to produce a different, healthier, more environmentally-friendly and natural wine, and applied it to its name.In Ancient Greek Télos stands for “accomplishment”, a goal to reach. Authors of Hellenic Judaism invested the word with religious meaning, using it to describe the fulfilment of a prophecy.

In Greek philosophy, in particular the writings of Aristotle, the word “télos” represented a purpose, a goal, the meaning of human existence. The concept of “télos” (namely the ultimate aim) became a fundamental part of all Christian philosophy and the teachings of the great modern philosophers. Our Télos has led us to develop a healthier wine-producing process and an “honest” wine which has remained as faithful as possible to its native land.Nothing has been left to chance in the Télos project, starting with its name, which will accompany it throughout its long and, we hope, lucky life – something any parent would wish for their beloved children.
